for

Exceptional Children

Our
Story

Miss E’s Home is named after Amber’s late Grandmother Edith who always opened her doors to care for children.

Edith valued children more than anything else and held a firm belief that each child is exceptional in their own way.

Edith passed this passion for little ones to Amber. Combining passion with her pediatric and palliative nursing experience, led to Amber and her Husband designing and building this home with caring for their community in mind.

More than just 24 hour nursing care

Fresh Air Therapy

With over 100 acres to explore, the fresh air is in plenty. Whether wandering through the yard or rocking in chairs on the wrap around porch, fresh air and sunshine on their faces are integrated into every day.

Animal Therapy

Miss E's Home is located on a working Ranch 20 minutes south west of Red Deer. There are ample opportunities to hear the purr of a cat, pet one of our seven horses, watch the dogs play or listen to the cows moo as they get fed. We work with each child's abilities to engage as appropriate.

Family Centred Approach

We take time to get to know and understand not just the child, but the entire family to ensure we are continuing the great habits, activities, and values that are established at home and continue on while they are with us.

Abilities Based Approach

Before each child arrives for a stay, a thorough care plan is created with the family. At Miss E's we take the approach of tailoring care to each individual child's needs.

We make every effort to reduce barriers and provide a wholistic experience for every child.
